Suspect arrested after assault, neighborhood lockdown in Hercules

A suspect has been arrested in connection with an early-morning assault with a deadly weapon that prompted a temporary lockdown of the Lupine Hills area while officers searched for the individual.

The Hercules Police Department, in coordination with the California Highway Patrol and the Pinole Police Department, located the suspect later in the day and took them into custody. The suspect, who was identified in the report, has since been booked into jail.

Police officials expressed gratitude to the community for their cooperation and to partner agencies for their assistance, with special recognition given to CHP K-9 Sully, Officer Rosales, and the Pinole Police Department.
