The San Pablo Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is set to host its annual Careers in the Trades Demonstration Day on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The event will take place from 3-5 p.m. at Maple Hall, San Pablo City Hall, at 1000 Gateway Ave. in San Pablo.
Participants will witness live skills demonstrations, gain insights from industry professionals and connect with apprenticeship programs and training providers. The event is open to individuals of all experience levels, with a special emphasis on encouraging high school students to attend after school.
A key feature of the event is the opportunity to network with representatives from leading organizations, including DC16 IUPAT Painters and Allied Trades, Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 104 & Bay Area Industry Training Fund, UA 159 Plumbers and Pipefitters, McCarthy Building Companies Inc., Ironworkers Local 378, Tradeswomen Inc., Laborers’ Local 67, Build California, Rising Sun Center for Opportunity, IBEW Local 302, Boilermakers Local 549, San Pablo EDC, and East Bay Works.
To ensure accessibility, resources and information will be available in both English and Spanish, catering to a diverse audience.
“This event is designed to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the trades industry, offering attendees the tools and connections they need to pursue a rewarding career,” said Owen Hershey, senior workforce coordinator at San Pablo EDC. “Whether you’re just starting out or looking to make a career change, there’s something here for everyone.”
