Residents are being urged to stay alert after reports surfaced of individuals canvassing neighborhoods with notices concerning “telecom underground construction,” despite no city‑approved permits for such work.

City officials advise homeowners to verify any identification or official documentation before engaging with unfamiliar visitors. If something feels off, residents are encouraged to end the interaction and close their door immediately.

The Hercules Police Department asks that any suspicious activity be reported to the non-emergency line at (510) 724‑1111. In case of immediate danger, call 911.
