A proposal for a new two-story, four-unit multifamily residential project along El Portal Drive near Fordham Street is set to go before the San Pablo Planning Commission on Tuesday.
The development proposes new rental housing to a 25,918-square-foot triangular lot near San Pablo Creek and St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
The project includes four two-bedroom, two-bathroom units ranging in size from 993 to 1,056 square feet. Each unit would have two covered parking spaces, one of which will be ADA-accessible. Amenities for residents include outdoor seating, a barbecue area, a fire pit, a sandbox, and a rose arch overlook with stucco benches lining the creekside perimeter.
The project includes a Craftsman-style design and 20 trees and a range of decorative plants would be planted on site.
City staff recommends approval of the project, in part given its contribution to the city’s housing supply.
