The Pinole Valley Park soccer field at the end of Wright Avenue will be rehabilitated thanks to a partnership between the West Contra Costa Youth Soccer League (WCCYSL) and the city.
The park site currently doesn’t have any use beyond open space due to hazards on the field.
The city met with the WCCYSL, which opted to donate funds for the project, which includes renovation to the soccer field and updates to the irrigation system. The cost is estimated to be around $167,050, the city said.
“The donation of the funds for this project will provide opportunities for WCCYSL including being the priority user for reservations for a period of 10 years, city-branded marketing for the collaboration, a plaque or other featured signage and logo of WCCYSL at the site and allow for a storage unit for the storage of the group’s items,” the city said.
