Congressman Garamendi secures $13.5M for local projects

Congressman John Garamendi secured $13.5 million in federal funding earlier this month which will benefit several local projects.

In total, 13 projects across California’s 8th Congressional District will receive funding from a package that aims to deliver affordable housing, healthy food access, public transit improvements and more walkable neighborhoods to local communities, according to Garamendi’s office.

Garamendi said all 13 projects will “make our community an even better place to live for working families and all residents.”

This week, Hercules City Manager Dante Hall called the new federal funds for The Hub “exciting news for us.”

“We are excited to be able to move forward and deliver this great project, which will connect our residents and employers with rail, bus and ferry options,” he said.
