El Cerrito to host first State of the City address

El Cerrito Mayor Lisa Motoyama will deliver her city’s first annual State of the City Address on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 5 p.m. at El Cerrito City Hall right before the regular City Council meeting, which starts at 6 p.m.

In her address, Mayor Motoyama will tout the city’s accomplishments in 2023 and discuss current and future goals. 

The mayor will also honor sponsors who contribtued to the 2023 City of El Cerrito/worldOne 4th of July Festival, including AC Transit, Chevron, East Bay MUD, East Bay Sanitary, El Cerrito Royale, JunkCat, Kaiser Permanente, Stege Sanitary, PG&E, Premier Graphics and Tires Direct.

During the subsequent council meeting, a reorganization of the City Council will take place to select a mayor and mayor pro tempore among the Council’s members. 

El Cerrito City Hall is located at 10890 San Pablo Ave.
