A traffic stop in San Pablo uncovered a stolen motorhome with a loaded, unregistered firearm and drugs inside, according to the San Pablo Police Department.

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon, when a San Pablo patrol officer noticed a suspicious RV driving without license plates, police said. A check of the VIN revealed the motorhome was stolen out of San Pablo.

The driver was arrested and during a search of the motorhome, police found bullets inside. A K-9 unit further searched the vehicle and found the pistol with a high capacity magazine and methamphetamine in a ventilation duct.

“Turns out the driver had been arrested in the past for some violent crimes while using a firearm,” police said. “The Motorhome was returned to its rightful owner and the driver was booked into county jail for several felonies.”
