A pedestrian was struck and killed in San Pablo on Friday night, police said.
At 11:17 p.m., San Pablo police responded to the 2800 block of Giant Road, where a vehicle traveling south on Giant Road struck a man walking on the roadway, police said.
Despite attempts by officers and paramedics to provide life saving measures, the victim, succumbed to his injuries and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name was not being released pending confirmation of his identity and notification to the family.
The driver of the vehicle stopped, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash at this time.
A portion of Giant Road remained closed for the investigation until 4 a.m.
