Retired NBA great A.C. Green was among the mentors who participated at the NBA FIT Clinic at the EM Downer Family YMCA on Thursday.

The clinic, a partnership that includes Kaiser Permanente, brought more than 100 youth from ages 7-14 to the YMCA gym at 263 S. 20th St., according to officials with the East Bay Soldiers Youth Basketball Program.

Green, who was nicknamed the Iron man for playing in the most consecutive NBA games in league history, was the NBA’s special guest at the camp, where youth learned skills, participated in drills and receive a t-shirt and goodie bag.

Christopher Whitmore, the director of policy and strategy from Mayor Butt’s office, stopped by the event, which organizers called a success.
