As we reported back in May, a news team from the French cable network Canal+ visited an East Bay Soldiers practice in Richmond to cover a story on Steph Curry’s impact on young players. They filmed ahead of the NBA Finals, when the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors in seven games.
Today, the East Bay Soldiers forwarded us an upload of the finished news video. You can watch it below.
Curry’s incredible shooting ability has been having a significant impact on young basketball players, inspiring them to throw up an increasing number of long-range shots. While the Golden State Warriors guard has encouraged young players to practice their shooting and ball handling skills, some worry they may lose focus on less-flashy fundamentals that have helped Curry become a star, such as knowing when to hand the ball off to a teammate or defensive skills.
But ultimately Curry is a good role model and so instead of a Be Like Mike, perhaps this new generation should be allowed to Be Like Steph.
