An 18-year-old Solano County man is in serious condition following a solo-vehicle crash on Richmond Parkway Monday morning that left his vehicle “literally cut in half by a tree,” police said.
The teen was driving just east of Parr Boulevard about 8:30 a.m. today when he lost control of his car and struck the tree. While alcohol was not a factor, the driver appeared to have been speeding on wet roads, Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan said.
Police posted photos to social media of the crash on Monday to warn other drivers of the consequences of excessive speeds.
“Please slow down on Richmond Parkway,” Tan said. “We’ve had numerous fatalities there.”
