A Richmond man is in custody and two others are being sought in connection with the murder of William Sims following a confrontation at an El Sobrante pool hall and bar on Nov. 12, according to the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
Daniel Porter-Kelly, 31 (pictured on far right) has been charged with robbery and murder with a hate crime enhancement related to the Nov. 12 killing at Capri Club. He is being held without bail.
Further details about Porter-Kelly’s arrest were not released.
Deputies are searching for two more suspects, Ray Simons, 32, of Hercules (pictured in middle) and Daniel Ortega, 31, of Novato or Richmond (pictured on left), in connection with the murder.
Detectives have also booked Renee Brown, 54, of Novato — Daniel Ortega’s mother — on an accessory charge for interfering in the investigation. She is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Sims was robbed and killed following a confrontation at Capri Club, according to detectives. He was a musician and retail worker with no gang ties or criminal record, they said.
Anyone with any information on this incident or the whereabouts of Ortega and Simons is asked to contact the Office of the Sheriff at (925) 646-2441. They are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
