Richmond Museum of History to host grand opening for new art installation

The Richmond Museum of History has never had a problem with aesthetics, but now the classic brick building has been enhanced by a new art installation.

From 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a grand opening will be held at the museum at 400 Nevin Ave. for the new artwork by local artist Lisa Foote.

Foote is expected to attend the grand opening event and discuss her piece, entitled “We are Richmond.”

The art installation features “portraits and quotes from people who love living and working in Richmond, Calif.,” organizers said.

The project was made possible by a Neighborhood Art Mini Grant sponsored by the Richmond Arts & Culture Commission.
