Animal Services waiving spay-neuter fees for adoptions from now through April 30

Contra Costa County Animal Services is waiving fees to spay and neuter newly adopted cats and dogs from today through April 30, hoping to spark an increase in adoptions.

Steve Burdo, spokesperson for the county department with shelters in Pinole and Martinez, told Bay City News the spay and neuter procedure is typically “the highest price of the adoption process.”

“We’re trying to do everything we can to place animals in happy and safe homes,” he told the newswire.
