Salesian College Preparatory has launched a fundraising effort for its “longtime friends and sports rivals” at Middletown High School, who have been heavily impacted by the massive Valley Fire.
Salesian posted a notice on Facebook Thursday informing its school community it is accepting donations:
A number of students and faculty members at Middletown High lost all they had in the Valley Fire, which has burned more than 70,000 acres and destroyed at least 585 homes, leaving a third of Middletown gone, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Chronicle told a fascinating story Thursday about how the high school sports connection has been key in the town’s recovery. Read the full report here.
