Two people were injured in separate shootings in Richmond Saturday, bringing the total of victims of gunfire during the last week in Richmond and North Richmond to nine.
A man who was shot in the Parchester Village neighborhood about 5:45 p.m. Saturday is expected to survive, police spokesperson Nicole Abetkov said.
The man was shot multiple times at Don Way and Harrison Drive, Abetkov said. He was initially reported in critical condition but is expected to pull through.
At 10:11 p.m. the same night, a person was shot in the area near Costa Avenue and 13th Street, Abetkov said. The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated and released, the police spokesperson said.
The incidents capped a week of rampant gun violence in Richmond and North Richmond.
On Friday night, a 16-year-old boy was found shot dead in front of a home in the 300 block of Market Street in North Richmond. The same night, the driver of a crashed car at 6th and Pennsylvania Avenue died from gunshot wounds.
Earlier in the week, on Tuesday night, four teenagers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in two separate shootings in Richmond.
No arrests have been reported in any of the shootings, Abetkov said, nor have any of the victims been identified.
