Four teens injured in two separate Richmond shootings Tuesday night


Police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred one minute apart in Richmond Tuesday night and left four teenagers with non-life-threatening injuries.

The first shooting was reported at 6:53 p.m. at McBryde Avenue and 28th Street, where witnesses said two men opened fire at a group on the corner, Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said Wednesday.

The suspects fled and no victims were found at the scene, but a 16-year-old later showed up at Doctors Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his lower torso, Abetkov said.

A minute later, police responded to another shooting and found two 16-year-old boys with gunshot wounds at 15th Street and Coalinga Avenue, near Belding-Garcia Park (see map below). They were in serious but stable condition Wednesday, Abetkov said. A third victim of that shooting, a 16-year-old girl, later arrived at the hospital with wound to her hip.

No arrests have been made. Police Capt. Mark Gagan told the Richmond Confidential the incidents could be related.
