What better way to watch the German film “Das Boot” — German for “The Boat” — than while on board the SS Red Oak Victory.
A special screening of the director’s cut of the 1981 German film, based on a novel of the same name published in 1973, will occur on May 31 at 6 p.m. aboard the Red Oak Victory. The World War II cargo ship-turned-museum is docked at Shipyard No. 3, 1337 Canal Blvd., Berth 5 in Richmond.
An intermission will occur during the three-and-a-half-hour film. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
