Caltrans is warning drivers about longterm overnight lane closures along a 10-mile stretch of Interstate Highway 80 in Contra Costa County due to a pavement rehabilitation project.
The project began Monday, April 30, in Richmond and is expected to last through November as crews work to provide a smoother ride for motorists between State Route 4 in Hercules to the Albany exit.
I-80 will remain open during the overnight work, but there will be various overnight intermittent lane closures on the eastbound and westbound lanes starting nightly at 8:30 p.m. until 4:30 a.m., Caltrans said.
“Please drive with caution through the construction zone, allow for extra time and expect delays,” Caltrans said, adding that work is weather dependent.”
