San Pablo police is thanking the community for providing tips that led to the arrest early Tuesday of a purse snatcher.

The suspect, who hasn’t been named, is accused of threatening to kill a woman while ripping her purse from her grasp and fleeing in a black Honda Pilot in San Pablo on March 22.

Although police did not release the location of the robbery in its online report, information reported to CrimeReports.com show the only strong arm robbery in the city on March 22 happened about the same time on San Pablo Avenue near the San Pablo Lytton Casino.

After police released a photo of the suspect and his vehicle, tips led to his arrest.

“A BIG ‘Thank You’ to our community for the tips leading to the arrest of this brazen purse snatcher,” according to SPD. “Thanks to you, he was identified. The suspect was arrested early Tuesday morning and is now being held accountable for his actions.”
