Spots are still open in the Removing Barriers Job Readiness Bootcamp from March 26 through March 29, a program designed to equip job seekers with the essential skills to obtain and maintain a career of their choice.
The bootcamp will be held at the San Pablo Economic Development Corp. at 13830 San Pablo Avenue, Suite D.
In this four-day training powered by San Pablo EDC and Travis Credit Union, participants learn financial literacy skills while exploring career options and job search strategies. They gain hands-on experience in professional communication, and becoming well-versed in the critical skills that help land and keep the job they want.
The program ends with mock interviews with local employers, opening of an ACCESS account, and referral to Wardrobe for Opportunity to receive a complete professional outfit for interviews. Thanks to a Kaiser Permanente grant, program graduates may also enroll free of charge in bilingual (Spanish/English) computer literacy evening courses with a top-rated instructor.
The Job Readiness Bootcamp by the San Pablo Economic Employment Corp. has gained interest from local employers.
“I would have hired several people if they had the right interview skills and presentation,” said Nate Anderson of Anytime Fitness in Pinole. “Now that I know San Pablo EDC has the Job Readiness Bootcamp, I will definitely send people their way.”
