Person fatally struck by train in Richmond

A person was fatally struck by a train in Richmond this afternoon, police said.

The person was struck by a San Joaquin train No. 716 about 3:10 p.m. along Carlson Boulevard at Pullman Avenue.

The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was not immediately identified.

None of the 21 passengers on board the train were injured.

  1. Do people honestly not hear the train coming? As a side note this is a very dangerous place to be walking or trying to cross the street. It seems logical that the city would consider doing something about it. How many people have to die before they do? How about a cross walk that goes OVER the tracks ? I dont know it seems like people would hear the train maybe its more suicide then it is them just being hit by a train. crazy..
