A mobile tool library is coming to North Richmond, and a manager is being sought to run the new program, according to the city.

The North Richmond mobile tool library, jointly funded by the city of Richmond and Contra Costa County, takes its inspiration from the Richmond Tool Library that opened in 2016. Tool libraries allows residents to borrow tools for home and community projects using their library cards.

Currently, city officials are seeking to employ someone experienced in tool maintenance and home improvement to the new position as Mobile Tool Library Manager in North Richmond. This is a contract position lasting through June 2018. The application deadline is Friday, March 16 at 11:59 p.m.

“The Mobile Tool Library Manager will be responsible for purchasing a cargo trailer and tools using grant funds, creating a library system, and overseeing its operations for volunteer-based beautification projects in North Richmond,” city officials said. “Applicants must own a motorized vehicle that can attach a cargo trailer, have a valid class C driver’s license, and have a clean driving history.”
