Contra Costa Animal Services offering reduced costs for adoptions

Moose (#A909619) is available for adoption from Contra Costa Animal Services' Pinole Shelter.

Starting today through March 17, Contra Costa Animal Services (CCAS) is offering reduced cost adoptions for all animals in an effort to reduce the populations at its shelters in Martinez and Pinole.

“During this period, the adoption fee for all animals will be $25 (fee does not include the cost to license the animal),” CCAS said in a statement.

Those interested are asked to visit the adoption centers in Martinez, 4800 Imhoff Pl., and Pinole, 910 San Pablo Ave, to meet their potential new family member.

In addition, on Saturday, March 17, CCAS will host its 8th Annual St. Pitty’s Day event that includes free adoptions of all bully breeds (all other animals will have a reduced cost adoption fee of $25).

“This annual event is an opportunity to showcases our wonderful bully breed shelter dogs, enlighten and educate the public about this amazing breed and highlight the work of our rescue/transfer groups who specialize in this breed of dog,” according to CCAS.
