Salesian boys basketball coach Bill Mellis won his 500th game win in his 20th season with the Pride, and has lost 150 games, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Monday.
The school confirmed the report on Facebook.
“Under Mellis, Salesian has won 10 league titles, seven in the section, three in NorCal and two state titles,” according to the Chronicle report, which added that his team is currently 28-1 and “might be his best.”
Mellis reached 400 wins in 2014.

Meanwhile, the Pride boys varsity team is hosting Hayward Wednesday at Albany High in the NCS Division 3 semifinals at 7 p.m.
