Man arrested in Atlanta for North Richmond triple shooting

A 41-year-old man was arrested in Atlanta last week in connection with a triple shooting in North Richmond in January.

Jermaine Lee Hicks was taken into custody by an FBI street gang task force without incident on Thursday, Feb. 22 in a residence in Southwest Atlanta, according to the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.

Contra Costa sheriff’s detectives identified Hicks as a suspect in the Jan. 22 shooting that wounded three men in the 500 block of Market Ave. The men have since recovered, authorities said.

The case was presented to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, which filed attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon charges, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hicks is being held at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta and is awaiting extradition to Contra Costa County.
