A massive Cars and Coffee event that entered The Shops at Hilltop’s parking lot for the first time in December has been so successful that it is now being held there on a monthly basis.
The next event is set for Feb. 3 at 8 a.m. in the parking lot between Macy’s and Sears, and participants are asked to RSVP on this Facebook event page. The event will then continue on the first Saturday of each month in the same location “for the foreseeable future,” according to the mall’s newsletter released Monday.
“Enter your car for $15 and the proceeds will go to the Make a wish Foundation,” organizers said.

The event, held by GMP Cars, has been going on since 2015 at various spacious locations in San Francisco and the East Bay. After having moved on from its latest location in Alameda, GMP Cars spent several months last year trying to locate a parking area within the Bay Area “that would house 1000+ vehicles.”
They decided on The Shops at Hilltop after inquiring about more than 10 sites.
The car show is one of several new amenities brought in by the new owners of The Shops at Hilltop, which has both short and longterm plans for reviving the shopping center and redeveloping the mall property.
