Richmond native and Hercules High senior Daylen Foster has been invited to play in the Blue Grey All American game at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, on Monday night in a showcase that will air on ESPN3.
The exhibition all-star game provides exposure for young players to college coaches and scouts, according to local community advocate Rodney “Alamo” Brown, who will be a PA announcer for the Monday matchup that begins at 6 p.m. Central Time.
Foster, a three-sport athlete with a 3.6 GPA, was selected to play after submitting yet another stellar performance during a showcase game in Los Angeles last week, Brown said.
The 6-8, 300-pound high school senior has received interest from the Idaho State University, among other schools.
He will be coached by a number of football greats, as the Blue Grey All American Bowl’s coaches list includes Randall Cunningham, Mark McMillan, Tony Banks, George Teague, Lorenzo Neal and Barry Foster.
The game will be preceded by a practice along with other activities such as a meet-and-greet event, a jersey presentation, a banquet and a walk-through of the NFL facility, Brown said.
“The experience Daylen is about to receive is well deserved,” Brown said.
