Two people were struck by trains at separate times in Richmond Wednesday morning, police said.
At about 4 a.m., a person was struck by a train where the tracks cross 22nd Street at Carlson Boulevard in Richmond, Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan said. There were no passengers on the train at the time.
At 11:45 a.m., an Amtrak train struck a person on tracks just north of Iron Triangle Court. The person’s condition wasn’t immediately known. There were 56 passengers and crew aboard the train at the time and none were injured.
Neither train collision occurred in areas designated for vehicle or pedestrian crossing, Tan said.
A man also survived being struck by a train in Emeryville about 6 a.m. Wednesday, near the Emeryville Amtrak station, according to news reports.
