Need help with fixing your laptops or desktops? Head to De Anza High School on Saturday, Jan. 20.
The De Anza High School Tech Academy is holding a Free Fix Day from 9 a.m. to noon in the cafeteria of the high school at 5000 Valley View Road.
The nonprofit academy offers Free Fix Day events in an effort to bridge the digital divide affecting low-income residents who lack access to technology. The academy also provides students skills that can lead to jobs that are in high demand.
On Free Fix Days, Tech Academy students diagnose and repair machines with minor issues such as virus removal, tune ups, operating system installation, laptop repair and other general issues.
The Tech Academy receives support on this initiative from Tracy Computer Services and Nerd Crossing.
