Residents of Richmond and surrounding West County communities: here’s how to recycle your Christmas trees.
We contacted Republic Services, which provided us with two helpful flyers with information on Christmas Tree disposal. The company says residents can cut up their unflocked tree so that it fits into their yard waste bins for pick up on normal collection day. There are also on-call pick up and drop-off opportunities.
The first flyer below applies to Richmond residents, while the second offers slightly different instructions to to residents of San Pablo, Hercules, Pinole, unincorporated West County (El Sobrante, North Richmond etc.), Crockett, Port Costa and Rodeo.
Republic Services does not service El Cerrito or Kensington.
SAN PABLO, HERCULES, PINOLE, UNINCORPORATED WEST COUNTY (EL SOBRANTE, NORTH RICHMOND ETC.), CROCKETT, PORTA COSTA AND RODEO
In San Pablo, the city’s Public Works Department is holding free tree pick-ups from Jan. 3 to Jan. 18.
“Please place trees curbside and city Public Works Crews will pick the tree up for proper disposal or recycling,” the city said. “Please remember that trees that have been flocked are not able to be recycled. Please call (510) 215-3070 for more information.”
Republic Services is also providing services. See the flyer below:
