Registration for enrollment in kindergarten and transitional kindergarten in the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) for the 2018-2019 school year begins on Monday, Jan. 8, the district has announced.
Parents or guardians can register their children at their neighborhood school either in person or through an online system, according to the district.
To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five-years-old on or before Sept. 1, 2018. Access to online enrollment will be available on Monday, Jan. 8 at 9 a.m.
A birth certificate or baptismal record are required at the time of registration, along with two pieces of documentation verifying address, immunization record and valid photo identification.
Enrollment is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on days school is in session.
Parents who wish to enroll their child in transitional kindergarten online can select ‘K’ or ‘Kinder’ in the online application. View the TK school chart to find your school of residence. Transitional Kindergarten students must turn five between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2, 2018.
If interested in transferring to another WCCUSD school, students must first be registered at their school of residence before filling out a transfer application during the Open Enrollment period, Feb. 5 to Feb. 16, 2018.
