The Cars and Coffee San Francisco event is set to be held in the Sears/Macy’s parking lot at Hilltop Mall in Richmond on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Entrance fee for the car meet event is $15 per car, with proceeds going to the Make a Wish Foundation.
It will be the first time this charitable event — held monthly since 2015 at various spacious locations in San Francisco and the East Bay — is being held at Hilltop Mall.
After having moved on from the previous location in Alameda, GMC Cars spent several months this year trying to locate a parking area within the Bay Area “that would house 1000+ vehicles.”
“After inquiring with more than 10 different locations throughout the Bay Area we were able to secure a parking area at Hilltop Mall in San Pablo between Macy’s and Sears,” they said.
Cars and Coffee began at Pier 30/32 in San Francisco and quickly grew out of the location “due to your overwhelming support and your fanatical affliction with cool cars.”
The car meet then moved to Treasure Island in late 2015 and spent more than a year there. With construction occurring on the island, Coffee and Cars needed a new location and found a spot in Alameda Point at the old air strip. However, that site wasn’t meant for the long term.
