A pop-up children’s bookstore has opened at The Shops at Hilltop through Dec. 31.
The multi-cultural bookstore will serve as a literacy fundraiser benefiting West County READS programs.
“There will be an abundance of various types of children’s books for kids of all ages for purchase from Ashay by the Bay books,” according to organizers.
The bookstore is a collaboration involving local children’s book author Tamara Shiloh, Ashay by the Bay owner Deborah Day and West County READS executive director Robin Wilson.
Founded in 2001, West County READS is a volunteer community collaboration in West County comprised of individuals, businesses and public and private organizations that work with parents, schools, libraries, and community groups to improve literacy outcomes for young children.
The pop-up store and fundraiser are part of a community outreach program by The Shop at Hilltop’s new owners LBG Real Estate Cos., which aims to provide more family-oriented products and services to Richmond and surrounding communities.
