Local job seekers are encouraged to apply to become a part of the Contra Costa College Forklift, Logistics, Operations and Warehouse program (FLOW) Spring Cohort.
The 10-week career-training program, which is sponsored by Chevron in partnership with CCC, teaches students how to work with forklifts and pallet jacks, and helps them gain valuable digital literacy skills and foundational knowledge of warehouse operations, according to Evan Decker, CCC career pathways manager.
The FLOW program will have two sessions in the Spring 2018 semester, the first running from Jan. 16 to March 23, and the second from March 26 to May 25.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Contra Costa College, 2600 Bell Drive.
Eligible participants must have lived in California for at least one year and one day, have a valid California I.D. or driver’s license, have a 7th grade reading and math level, be able to pass a drug test and are willing to respect attendance and behavior policies.
The program emphasizes interpersonal skills, reliability and professionalism, OSHA and Hazmat certification and job placement assistance, Decker said.
“These skills and connections with our community and employer partners can help participants get a job at the conclusion of the program,” he said.
Interested applicants should contact Decker at (510) 215-3977 or firstname.lastname@example.org. See the flyer for more information.
