The community is invited to a special all-you-can-eat Taco Tuesday event at Los Moles Restaurant in El Cerrito today, Nov. 14, that will benefit the nonprofit Groundwork Richmond, which works on restoring the environment while providing area youth on its Green Team with education and career training opportunities.
The Taco Tuesday event is set to take place today, Nov. 14, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Los Moles at 6120 Potrero Ave.
“Attendees will enjoy Los Moles’ amazing all-you-can-eat taco bar for just $12, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m….while mingling with staff and supporters,” according to Groundwork Richmond organizers. “In addition, Groundwork will be raffling exclusive prizes, including: Los Moles gift cards, a unique art print by Rebeca Garcia-Gonzalez (local artist), a choice tequila basket, select Groundwork swag and a Patagonia backpack.”
The event will launch the nonprofit’s #GivingTuesday online fundraising campaign.
Proceeds will benefit Groundwork Richmond programs such as The Green Team, which provides skills and education to a local youth team working on the nonprofit’s Urban Forestry strategy, which involves planting hundreds of trees in Richmond. That effort helps absorb greenhouse gases, reduce local air pollution, absorb stormwater runoff and beautify neighborhoods.
“Through this vital project the Green Team has also acquired vital STEAM education concepts in a hands-on learning environment that involves peer-to-peer training, staff and community mentorships, and so much more,” Groundwork Richmond says.
Aside from tree planting, Green Team members also experience outdoor recreation and national park immersion experiences as they acquire skills needed to address environmental needs of their generation.
