Local military members and veterans can get deals at Richmond breweries in the next two days.

Both active military members and veterans will get $1 off every pint purchased at East Brother Beer Co. at 1001 Canal Blvd. in Richmond on Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11. The taproom’s Friday hours are from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

“We’re also planning to have a Fallen Comrade Table to honor those no longer with us,” East Brother Beer Co. co-founder Rob Lightner said.

Meanwhile, Benoit-Casper Brewing at 1201 Pennsylvania Ave. is offering 1/2 off on their first two pints this Saturday.

They’re two of several local places honoring veterans for Veterans Day, which is Nov. 11.

On Friday, the big Veterans Day event in Richmond will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Craneway Pavilion at 1414 Harbour Way S. The free, public event will include historic exhibits, a Veterans Expo providing resources to veterans, narratives of the city’s history and opportunities to thank veterans and active military members in person. Among them will be Richmond Mayor Tom Butt, a Vietnam War veteran.

Then on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at San Pablo City Hall, 13831 San Pablo Ave., a Veteran’s Day event will include the De Anza High Air Force JROTC and the East Bay Singers (from Cal State East Bay).
