Motorcyclist splitting lanes causes six-car wreck on I-80 in Richmond

A motorcyclist who was splitting lanes is believed to have been responsible for a six-car wreck on Interstate Highway 80 that temporary closed all westbound lanes for nearly an hour this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at 5:34 a.m. at Cutting Boulevard. The motorcycle that was splitting lanes struck another vehicle, causing the collision chain, CHP said. All lanes are open again.

  1. Drivers purposely get in the way of bikes out of jealousy. And let’s not forget lane splitting is legal. Most of the time people start lane changing before properly checking mirrors. So before you “believe” a bike caused a 6 car collision check the drivers, but of course the non driving person that struck the bike says the bike struck them.

  2. Really? A little motorcycle was able to take out six cars? Typical BIASED Headline! You can’t say anybody CAUSED anything until the CHP’s investigation is finalized weeks from now.
