Two people from Richmond found deceased near tracks

2 struck by trains in Richmond Wednesday

Two people from Richmond were found deceased near the Union Pacific train tracks in Contra Costa County last week, the Bay City News reported today, citing a Union Pacific spokesperson as well as the county coroner’s office.

Solomon Lee III, 37, was believed to have been struck by a train on Thursday night near Brookside Drive in Richmond, according to BCN. His body was reportedly found in an area that was not near a railroad crossing.

Early Friday, Marjorie King, 35, was found deceased near Third Street and Sharon Avenue in Hercules, according to BCN.

“We are not aware of any Union Pacific trains being there at that time, but we are working with Amtrak, the coroner and local law enforcement to find out what happened,” a Union Pacific official told BCN.

Both victims were described by county coroner’s as transients.
