Victim of fatal I-80 crash in San Pablo ID’d as Sacramento man

The victim of a fatal crash on Interstate Highway 80 in San Pablo early Wednesday morning has been identified as 69-year-old Conrad Martin of Sacramento.

Martin’s Kia Optima slowed or stopped in the westbound lanes about 3:50 a.m. and was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram truck near San Pablo Dam Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said. He was unresponsive when CHP officers arrived, Wilkenfeld said.

An autopsy on Martin was expected to occur today to determine the cause of death.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured, nor was that driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Wilkenfeld said.
