The groundbreaking ceremony for the Richmond Ferry terminal is set for Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the site of the future ferry terminal, which is right next to the Craneway Pavilion at 1414 Harbour Way South. See the flyer below for more information.

The estimated start date for Richmond Ferry service to San Francisco is fall of 2018.

According to the plans, as noted on the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) website, the new terminal will include a gangway leading to a new passenger float. Construction activities “would generally include demolition of the existing facility, replacement of existing piles, construction of the gangway, and placement of the float,” according to WETA. “Minor grading and excavation could be necessary for parking lot reconfiguration and trail and access improvements.”
