Two local men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Adrian Segoviano Hernandez in San Pablo earlier this month.

Hernandez was shot Sunday, Sept. 10, in the 1800 block of Powell Street.

San Pablo detectives said they learned there was “gang-related motivation” for the shooting, police said.

They identified Jose Maravilla, 20, of Richmond, and Ignacio Sanchez, 24, of San Pablo as suspects in the shooting. On Thursday Sept. 28, Sanchez was arrested at the Concord BART Station with assistance from BART police, and later in the afternoon San Pablo detectives arrested Maravilla in the area of 14th and Willow streets in Oakland.

“Both suspects were subsequently booked into Contra Costa County Jail with charges of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy, and participation in a criminal street gang,” police said.

Anyone with information in this case is encouraged to contact the San Pablo Police Department at (510) 215-3150, or the West Contra Costa Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (510) 799-8255. All callers can remain anonymous.
