San Pablo man arrested in connection with apartment attack

A San Pablo man was arrested Friday in connection with an attempted sexual assault the night before in El Cerrito.

On Thursday, Sept. 14 about 8:46 p.m., El Cerrito police were called about a burglary in process at an apartment complex at the north end of the city.

They arrived and learned that a stranger had climbed into an apartment window, woke up the resident, brandished a knife, attempted to sexually assault the victim and demanded the victim’s valuables, police said.

During the attack, a roommate showed up and knocked on the door, startling the suspect who exited through a backdoor and jumped down several floors. An extensive search of the area did not turn up a suspect, police said.

The following day at 3 p.m., detectives identified a suspect: Jermine K. Allen of San Pablo, who was booked into Martinez Detention Facility and is being held without bail on charges including assault with intent to commit rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment, burglary, robbery, terrorist threats and violation of probation.

  1. Excellent work detectives. Now let’s hope the justice system doesn’t fail the publics best interests and locks this dangerous individual away for the rest of his life so he doesn’t get out and murder some poor woman next time. Life in prison is fair enough to this dirtbag.

  2. Luckily, like most lowlifes, he identified himself as a criminal by having tattoos on his face. Seems like a “stop and frisk” policy should be in effect for all the dimwits with tats on their face.

Glad they caught him, one down thousands to go!

    • Good idea. They would make outmlikw bandit catching all the dimwits at Safeway, Dollar Store, Walgreens and now Ross just right across the way.

      • That Ross is a MESS, a lot of the customers taking things off the rack to look at them and then dropping them on the floor instead of putting them back on the rack. I won’t go there a second time.
