A half-mile stretch of San Pablo Dam Road will close to traffic on Sunday, Sept. 17 for the 24th annual El Sobrante Stroll, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The road will be closed from Appian Way to El Portal Drive from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This will allow potentially tens of thousands of strollers to enjoy a parade, sample food and dance to live music at an event that organizers say has grown annually.
Last year, about 20,000 celebrants attended the Stroll, held by the El Sobrante Chamber of Commerce.
The day starts with a parade featuring marching bands and horses that will set out from the Walgreens parking lot at 11 a.m. There will also be a car show, crafts and other vendors.
