We visited Point Richmond’s newest restaurant

Dining at a relatively new restaurant is always exciting, but can also be a roll of the dice. We’re happy to report that Brezo—which debuted earlier this year in the historic Baltic building at 135 Park Place—is a safe bet.

The charming eatery offers a blend of healthy comfort food with a Latin American touch. An open-air back patio enhances the dining ambience. My wife and I visited on an all-too-rare date night and enjoyed the experience, from the décor to the service. Of course the food remains the main attraction, and in that way Brezo also delivered.

The highlight of all the dishes was my spouse’s kale-quinoa salad—punctuated by fresh parmesan cheese and a light lemon dressing. We were pleased throughout: the prawns topped with flavorful tequila lime butter, and for entrees the kale enchilada (with caramelize onions!) and a perfectly moist chicken parilla.

We are looking forward to returning in the future to try out their brunch and lunch menus.
