Richmond police are searching for suspects in connection with two separate fatal shootings this month.

The latest homicide occurred Saturday about 2:30 a.m. in the area of Florida Ave. and Harbour Way South, Richmond police Sgt. Lynette Parker said. Police responded the area following an activation of the Shotspotter gun detection system and found the victim, identified as 46-year-old Mark Clay of Rohnert Park.

The homicide followed a fatal shooting that occurred about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 1, when a ShotSpotter activation sent police to Florida Avenue and Marina Way South. Keith A. Williams was found fatally shot near the intersection, Parker said.

“The police department is following up on leads, but there are no suspects or vehicles identified at this time,” she said.

Thus far in 2017, there have 11 homicides in Richmond, excluding the Aug. 2 fatal shooting of a suspect by Vallejo police officers in Richmond’s Hilltop neighborhood.

  1. Tammie Baker was shot dead on South 4th and Florida Ave back in 2014. First homicide of that year. Said they were investigating and now have just forgotten about it!! Another man was shot dead less then 24 hours of Tammie being shot. Seeing that they are now looking for those involved in 2 other shootings on Florida Ave and Harbour Way S and Marina S…I would say they are all connected. All within Blocks of each other and on Florida Ave. The cops need to get more serious about all the killings and shooting on Florida Ave. Quit writing it off as no suspects or motives and still investigating. That excuse is getting old and they need to find out who is responsible for these shootings and murders!! Tammie was a beautiful young lady who did not deserve to die and be forgotten by law enforcement.!! They need cameras in the area or undercover cops doing something!!! They need to reopen Tammies case and others like it. You as a News organization should start questioning law enforcement and see what they have to say about the connection in these shootings!!!
