Two protesters were arrested at the Kinder Morgan Richmond Terminal Monday morning, according to Bay City News, citing a police spokesman.
The protesters were among the activists blocking three gates at the Canal Boulevard facility to oppose the company’s planned expansion of its Trans Mountain Tar Sands Pipeline in Canada.
Richmond police say they made the two arrests at one of the gates in order to free up passage for emergency personnel. Protesters at the other gates were allowed their right to assemble, police said.
The protest was live-streamed on Facebook.
