18-year-old Richmond man fatally shot Saturday; father arrested

No injuries in shooting on I-580 in Richmond Saturday night

A father has been suspected in the fatal shooting of his 18-year-old son in Richmond on Saturday, according to the Contra Costa Coroner’s Office.

Carlos Easiley, 18, of Richmond  was reportedly shot in the 2900 block of Groom Drive just after 8 a.m., police said.

His father, 59-year-old Carl Easiley, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of homicide, police said.

This isn’t the first tragedy to strike the family. In 2007, Carl Easiley found another of his sons, Carl Thomas Easiley III, fatally shot on his doorstep in the 2900 block of Groom.

Further details about the latest incident were not immediately known.
