It’s not a robot invasion.
We just had to inquire about the cool-looking, 7-foot tall robot statue erected at M.G.R Muffler, which is located at 12432 San Pablo Ave. in Richmond, near the Barrett Overpass.
We discovered it is the work of M.G.R. Muffler owner Julian Rodriguez, who created the robot — all from recycled muffler parts — with help from a friend three years ago.
Rodriguez said the robot took five months to complete. To this day, it attracts curious passersby.
Rodriguez says he has no other statues or artworks displayed anyplace else. This is only robot creation and Rodriguez doesn’t consider himself an artist, although we beg to differ.
